On Saturday, May 18, 2024, Smithtown Sunrise Rotary will install a Peace Pole and Kindness Rock Garden at Smithtown High School West which will represent the importance of thinking, speaking and acting in the spirit of peace for its Rotary Day of Service.
The Peace Pole Project is part of a global movement to promote peace on earth. Each Peace Pole bears the message May Peace Prevail on Earth in different languages on each of its sides. There are estimated over 250,000 Peace Poles in every country in the world dedicated as monuments of peace.
